The start of a new year is always a good time to review your building’s security and see what can be improved. Here are some areas you should have a look at in 2016:

- Are your perimeter doors secured? Entry doors should be reinforced with security plates to prevent prying.
- Have you checked the quality of your video surveillance footage lately? It should be able to provide clear identification, even in the dark.
- Do you have an aging access control system? It may be time to research some upgrade options to prevent later difficulties with repair/replacement of obsolete parts.
- When was the last time preventive maintenance was performed? Backup batteries require regular replacement, and maintenance extends your system life.
